After as little reflection of my own.....I think I was only partly on track. There is some pretty &lt;i&gt;potentially&lt;/i&gt; serious data mining juice at stake and neither Microsoft nor Google is apt (or even able at this late date) to leave that prospect lying around for the other to scoop up. It may all be for naught but they cannot escape each others orbit long enough to innovate. The good news is that others are not so encumbered.</description>
