Does Size Matter

Quality vs. Quantity

I watched a video on SEO from a very credible source last week and the presenter said something that immediately sent up a red flag alert in my mind.  He said “the bigger your site the better it ranks, create as many pages as you can”.  That is simply a FALSE statement.

This type of thinking … quantity vs. quality is rampant in today’s digital world.  It isn’t how many followers you have on twitter, how many friends you have on facebook, or how many pages you have on your website.  The only thing that matters is quality!

Matt Cutts, Google Engineer, answered the size question in his video blog and in a nutshell … size doesn’t matter. It isn’t the size that determines a websites authority (search engine placement), instead it is determined by the links coming to your website.  Watch the Video for the complete answer.

QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY … that is all that matters.  Success is based on the quality of your website, the quality of your customer service, the quality of your products and/or services, the quality of your relationships (online and offline).

  • Cutts’ comments are on the mark. However, it begs the question, how do we improve the ‘quality’ of our existing site. That’s the challenge facing Bell.
